The Additional Aircraft Rating – Multi Engine Land course is for pilots who already hold a GACA issued Private, Commercial or Airline Transport Pilot certificate – single engine, and who wish to obtain a multi-engine class rating added to that certificate. At the completion of this course the individual will not obtain a multi-engine instrument airplane rating, but will have a multi-engine VFR restriction added to the certificate.
Since this course is proficiency based, the total course hours will be determined on the basis of individual student performance. The ground and/or flight training will be based on the concept of ‘train to standard’ and the total number hours required will fluctuate based on the skill and aptitude of the individual.
The total cost for an additional aircraft rating will depend on the actual hours of flight and/or ground training used.
The Additional Aircraft Rating course will be delivered only under Part 61 regulations.
