According to the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), loss of control inflight (LOC-I) has been the leading cause of fatal accidents involving the global turbine aircraft fleet during the last 10 years. While prevention is the number one mitigation measure to LOC-I, aircraft upset recovery techniques are not intuitive and require specific skill sets that must be taught.

Upset Prevention & Recovery Training (UPRT) provides fully comprehensive and guaranteed life saving skills to enhance any pilot’s ability to recognize, avoid and recover from virtually any airplane upset, unusual attitude, or stall/spin entry flight condition.

Saudi Aviation Flight Academy (SAFA), in partnership with Aviation Performance Solutions (APS), the global leader in providing Upset Prevention & Recovery Training, is launching the first comprehensive UPRT program in the Middle East outside of the military.

All courses are in full compliance with the internationally-recognized Airplane Upset Recovery Training Aid – Revision 2, FAA Aviation Circular 120-109 on Stall and Stick Pusher Training and the recently published ICAO Manual on Aeroplane Upset Prevention and Recovery Training.

SAFA utilizes the Extra330 LX Unlimited Category Aerobatic Airplane. The Extra330 LX was selected to deliver the UPRT programs due to it's extraordinary operating envelope of +/- 10 Gs, which creates an exceptional margin of safety while conducting UPRT.
